Library services for 5 to 11 year olds

In line with government guidance we are gradually re-opening libraries and re-introducing library services over the coming weeks and months.

You will not be charged fines for any outstanding loans for the period of the closure of library buildings.

Back to school in autumn 2020

Returning back to school after many months might be challenging. Our back to school resources will help parents, carers and children with the return to school.

Reading Well for children

Recommends reading to help children understand their feelings and worries and cope with tough times. Many of the books on this list cover topics that children and families may be experiencing at this time, including worry, loss and bereavement, and dealing with troubling world events.

Need help with your homework? Email libraries online help with your questions and we’ll recommend some good resources to help.

Silly Squad, Summer Reading Challenge 2020

There is still time to join in the fun with this year's digital version of the Summer Reading Challenge!  As children read their library books, they take part online and unlock digital prizes, activities and video content as rewards for their reading. Families are encouraged to join in and get silly with downloadable activities, games, quizzes and more.

The challenge closes on Saturday 12 September.
