Vaccine roll out
Now that we have a vaccine that has been confirmed as safe and effective by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), we can begin to roll it out to those groups who the independent Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) have decided need it most.
Vaccines are our best defence against the virus alongside effective social distancing, wearing a mask and washing your hands.
The NHS is working closely to roll out vaccines when the supplies are available. This will be in partnership with local councils in:
- Barnet
- Camden
- Enfield
- Haringey
- Islington.
As part of this, the NHS is recruiting extra people, to ensure it can continue to provide the vital health services that we all rely on.
Who can help
The NHS is now calling on local people, who have experience of vaccinating or are willing to be trained, to come forward to support the vital next phase in the health service’s COVID-19 response.
They need recruits with strong organisational and people skills who will also play a vital role in delivering the programme.
No previous healthcare experience is required as full training will be provided. This will include remote e-learning and practical face-to-face sessions.
What to expect
There will be a number of paid and voluntary roles offered on a flexible basis, to help you fit around other responsibilities.
You could work in a variety of local settings that have been set up to vaccinate eligible groups of people.
If you are looking to take a first step into health and social care or perhaps switch careers, this is a great opportunity for you.
Practical training, supervision and PPE will be provided for all roles for yours and other people's safety.
