‘Retreat' is an exhibition of artwork and research surrounding the village of Fairbourne, North Wales. In 2021, government officials declared that by 2052, it would no longer be safe or sustainable to live in Fairbourne due to rising sea levels, making the residents the UK's first climate refugees. This exhibition comprises a collaboration between artist Georgia Clemson and Landscape Architect Daniel Shaw. Georgia Clemson will be exhibiting abstract photographic prints responding to the changing coastline of Fairbourne along with a film of footage collected in the area in 2021. This work will be exhibited alongside Daniel Shaw's Landscape Institute award winning design 'Fairbourne 2070: Adapting Coastlines'.
Please note that this exhibition will be open between 10am-5pm on Monday-Friday, and 12pm-5pm on weekends between 2-16 July. There is no age limit but it is most suitable for 16+.
